Sandpits in kinder’s and parks are no longer the traditional square box design. Sand play areas are often designed in imaginative shapes and sizes to encourage creative play. Mulders custom makes protective sandpit covers to exactly fit irregular shaped sandpits and sand play areas.

Mulders sandpit covers are designed to keep animals, leaves and litter out. Unlike solid covers, their special mesh material allows air to permeate avoiding fungal build up. Sandpits can be flush with ground level, with raised edges, brick, concrete, timber and rock surrounds. Mulders have various sandpit cover fixing solutions which can accommodate most of these situations. Safety is an issue and if possible fixing points are usually designed to be non protruding.

Mulders use premium quality shade mesh and shock cord - both of which are weather and tear resistant. In some cases, covers are usually held securely in place with series of brass eyelets, fixing buttons and cord loops which can easily be released for quick removal. Covers can be rolled up into a small bundle for easy removal and storage. The mesh material can be lighter than canvas and typically many covers weigh no more than a few kilos.

Our sandpit covers are manufactured on site at Mulders Melbourne factory. A review via email or fax of the sandpit shape and size is usually the first stage. Customers can download easy to use measuring guidelines and a fax back quote form from our website.

All Mulders quotations include a cover made of premium grade shade mesh or shade cloth to match the sandpit’s exact dimensions. Fixings methods are all included in the quote. All edges are strengthened with a durable, flexible 50mm deep polyethylene tape specially designed to reinforce the eyelet fixings. Lead times are usually about 7-10 working days.
